I have stopped dipping tobbacco for good. I had a white patch on my lower lip which was diagnosed as leukoplakia. This was a painless patch that I wouldn't have noticed except that I gargled with hydrogen peroxide and when I did the pre-cancerous patch was as big as day. I thought it was cancer, made an appointment with a dentist and thankfully dodged the cancer bullet. But in the 3 days from the time of my noticing this patch to when the dentist gave me the OK I read about the devastating effects of oral cancer. It is no coincidence that it occurrs largely with spit tobbacco users. This was only a scare but it made me realize all that God has given me with good health, a solid family, and a bright future that I don't want to give up due to a stupid habit that can take away all those good things. Read about oral cancer and the disfigurement, speech therapy, and low survival rate and I bet you'll stop. The pictures of victims are the icing on the cake. To see pictures look at the PATCH program website. Good luck!
