Kitty

I have two cats, one cat is current on his shots for rabies, the other one is way overdue, "Buddy" I live in a State Park where there are a lot of wild animals, and Buddy came home with an open wound on his head and wouldn't let me tend to the wound, he took off before I could do anything and has been missing for 3 1/2 weeks! He never would stay out at night, however he hasn't been home in all this time. Last week 2/2/00 I thought I saw him and called his name and he stopped and turned to me and as I approached him he ran off. Last night 2/11/00, I heard a cat fight and ran to see what was going on and saw Buddy again! He was fighting with my other cat "Nala" When I called out he again stopped looked at me and took off, I ran after him but he took off in the woods! By this time Nala was scared and his tail was fat and he followed me into the house! Now Buddy was always a very friendly and loving cat who loved attention from anyone! I'm concerned that he may have gotten rabies and now transfered it to Nala! My question is if Buddy contracted rabies could this why he isn't responding to me in his normal loving way and if so could that little fight he had with Nala transfered the virus! Nala is due for his vacine in April. There were no open wounds that appeard on Nala but I'm concerned for his health at this point!! What should I do??????
