                        I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15 years old.  I was having about 5 fits today and my neurologist kept changing my medication.  Nothing seemed to work.  I then went to see a Professor at the Johannesburg General Hospital.  She took my off my medication so that she could do a sleep test, to ascertain what the problem was.  In the month that I was off medication I did not have any fits at all.  That was in 1995.  I now have Rivitrol, which I take if I feel as though I am going to fit.  I also take Tegretol daily.  Since 1995 I have only had about 4 fits.  I don't know what country you are from.  If you are South African, and live in Johannesburg, do yourself a favour and go and see Dr. Stanley Levy at Linksfield Clinic.  He is my specialist, and is absolutely brilliant.I hope you come right, and I hope things get better.  Don't give up.  I almost did, and I am grateful now that I didn't.
