Twenty five years ago I had a 6 hour glucose tolerance test that nearly "did me in". Just about the worst thing that ever happened to me. It took me years to get over it and find a satisfactory way to eat. Then 2 years ago allergies to wheat and beef, and nuts and cheese, my standbys, caused me tremendous problems. I've had panic attacks and have found out that my problems were a combination of allergy attacks, nutritional imbalances along with the hypoglycemia. Eating every 2 to 2 and a half hours helps but espcially the combination of a protein, FAT and a carbohydrate. I cannot handle many fruits or vegetables due to allergies and also due to the fact that my triglycerides got down to 42 when I didn't eat enough fat and protein. I also have osteoporsis and all this rotating foods for allergies and finding vitamins that will help and that I am not allergic to all seemed impossible. But God is giving my husband and me wisdom. Using the blood test monitor I found out that with enough fat I can even control the glycemic swings of rice and potatoes. Also, whole grains are very important. I don't eat any junk and drink only water. Magnsium really helps with panic attacks too.
