Yes there is life after surgery for TOS. I had it about 20 yrs ago and never gelt so well afterwrds. I had no sensation in my hands, they were cold and blue[Raynauds Syndrome],I couldn't put my arm above my head as I nearly passed out from lack of circulation to my brain, and I had a huge lump in my strenum wher the tip of the right rib was sticking out. Not only did it look awful, but also it hurt. I had to have 3 ribs taken out on each side -one of the unlucky ones with the ribs on both sides- in 2 separate surgeries 4 monthes apart. Yes the surgery was painful and I was in hospital 6 days after the surgery and then convaleced for 6 weeks. After that I went back to nursing full time and never thought about it til the 2nd surgery which went much the same. I now have warm hands, full circulation,no fainting spells, and no lumps. Yes I would have it done again for the relief. The scars under each arm are notheing compared to haow I felt before. Go for it!!!
