My child has had recurring pain in ankles at night, about 3 times per year since age 3. It is severe, but gone by morning. I am wondering if this is an symptom of rheumatic fever? something else? Should I be concerned? He has a respiratory infection at the present time, and he just had an episode of severe ankle pain.
