Ectopic pregnancies usually occur when there is damage to the fallopian tubes. A lot of woman who had chlamydia, or PID are at an increased risk for it. Reversed tubal ligations, endometriosis, fibroids, or more that one abortion puts a woman at high risk also. Or it can simply be bad luck. I had an ectopic this year. Fortunately, I did not have to get surgery. I had to get a shot of Methotrexate and I had to keep going back to the hospital weekly to monitor my HCG level. I took an HSG exam to make sure my tubes, uterus, and ovaries looked good and thank God they did. I got the okay to try again but I am a little afraid. I have to trust that God will take care of it the next time. Good luck
