I have had crohn's dx for 7 yrs now. Had to have emergency surgery so it was visually diagnosed. I suspect from what I have learned in the past 7 yrs that I probably had it for some several yrs prior to the surgery. I have had a DVT in both legs. They happened after an injury to each leg and 9 years apart. One in 4/99 and one in 5/91. I had an acute phlebitis in rt arm about a yr ago following veinapunctures when I was hospitalized for chest pain. that was 3 weeks before I was again hosp for the DVT. I do have a past history of numerous episodes of phlebitis. Whether this is co-incidental to the crohn's or not I don't know but it is interesting that you have a similar set of circumstances. Oh - one of the phlebitis episodes occurred after I had spent 3 days special nursing a premie in an isolette. Strange??
