I had Gastric Bypass in May of 96. In May of 97 I had additional surgery for a hernia, a direct result of the bypass surgery. It was very successful, for a while. I maintained my ideal weight for a year and a half. My problem now is that the staples in my stomach that were controlling my food intake have come undone. And I am gaining weight. I have constant heartburn and have to take meds for GE Reflux. I have constant pain in my stomach from the excess weight on the scar tissue in my stomach from both surgeries, not to mention back pain, aching knees and ankles! Now my insurance has denied me coverage for the repair of my stomach! I am looking for advice from anyone that might have experienced problems with this surgery.. Or problems with insurance for such a problem.
