My Mom is 52 & was diagnosed back in 1996 w/ HepC & Cirrhosis. She quit drinking for 1 year but started back up again. Now she has Ascites & is in & out of the Hospital every week to get drained & her Kidney function is now deteriorating. Her blood pressure is steady at 65/35. Just in the last few days she has had to use a Wheelchair because she is so dizzy she is afraid to walk. My question is.....How long do any of you think my Mom has left? She is going to the University on Tuesday to talk to them about a Shunt because her Abdominal Cavity is filling up w/ fluid every 3-4 days. She is sick to her stomach all the time. My question is.....Can anyone give me an idea how long she has? I`ve read that once the Ascites starts, it`s pretty much downhill from there. Thanks for any input....Karmann. Email me anytime, please. Also, should I call & talk to her Liver Doc? Legally, can he tell me anything about her condition that she isn`t telling me?
