I am in search for a MD who would emphasize with my husband on his condition. We are looking for a doctor that is willing too prescribe pain medication too my husband when needed. My husband has no drug history, nor does he drink, except maybe 1-2 drinks in a years time. He is in alot of pain during the summer months, due too the flare up of the disease, and can only get pain medication if he goes too the ER, which is costing us too much money. He is a pending disability case, which goes too court, with an attorney in late August, and will be recieving a hefty retroactive claim. Any doctor that chooses too help him will be greatly appreciated and reimbursed. Please help him, as many doctors look down upon people requesting pain medications, and with the way my husband looks, he gets stereotyped as someone who is a "drug seeker" when in fact, he is very careful with any pain meds he gets, and absolutely does not abuse them. One vicoprofen lasts him almost an entire day. The problem is many doctors are not aware of the pain the Lupus patients go through, and are also afraid that in the long run, if the Lupus begins too take his life, he will probably be dependent on them. But in the mean time, he has too go through chronic continuous pain, with no help from any doctor, except the emergency room. There has too be a doctor out there that will sympathize with my husband, there just has too be.
