My mother developed polymyalgia rheumatica in January and has been treated with prednisone. She is riding a rollercoaster with ups and downs. She feels better and can function then the pain is back and she cannot use her hands until afternnon. I think she is depressed. Has anyone had success managing the depression - will an anti-depressant help? This is such a discouraging disease - first you hear 2 years but it seems to go on and on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
