I am a 40 y.o. male who was diagnosed with hyperthyroid 18 months ago. I am on PTU (propylthyouracil). It has worked reasonably well, although getting the right dosage can be tricky. Even with that, I will most likely be having my thyroid irradiated shortly. Symptoms/signs do reappear occasionally and I just don't like the way I feel. The best thing is to have a good relationship with your endocrinologist. Good luck!
