Well this is my 5th flare up of the disease, and this time my doctor thinks I will need surgery to remove the diseased part of the colon. In the meantime, because my colon has narrowed in size, I have been prescribed Bentyl for the spasms. Does anyone have any experience taking this antispasmodic drug? Also, the surgery will be a non-emergency basis as my infection is pretty well contained, which means it will not be a colonoscopy. How long did you spend in the hospital, and what was your recuperation period at home? Did you go back to work shortly after being discharged? Thanks for any responses.
