Restless Legs attack - Do you go to work when

Jon

I have read a lot about RLS since my attacks started about four weeks ago. I couldn’t believe first that there was an actual classification for this strange feeling I have had in my legs off and on since I was a young boy. I felt so validated, and no longer alone! But now I am faced with trying to find a Doctor that knows enough about the illness to Give me something so I can get back to a normal life – sleeping enough to think clearly. I am the lead computer tech at a National Institution in Washington DC, but yesterday I couldn’t figure out why the home appliances I plugged into a new power strip wouldn’t come on until I accidentally saw a switch on the side of the device. That was very scary to me, to see that my highly paid troubleshooting ability was reduced to that of a four year old (sorry to toddlers I may have offended - smile). That brings me to the reason for this posting – WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING ABOUT WORK. For the last three weeks I have taken off Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I have been just to tried, and unable to think clearly to stay on the job. So I am faced with two choices at this point, I can try and go on disability (have any of you done that with RLS?) until I find a Doctor that puts me on the “Perfect medications” (which, yes I know is not a easy thing to shoot for), or just go to work and hope there are no four year olds that need help with a power strip, much less someone asking me why their PC can’t connect to the Network. Please reply with how you get by at work, and life!
