I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have had a mastectomy. My treatment is Tamoxifen twice a day for the next five years. The charactaristics of my cancer are as follows: Stage I - <0.2cmm - NO 0/14nodes - ER/PR positive - Her-2-Neu negative - DNA is Sphase low / diploid. I have become aware of a study that concludes RT plus tamoxifen had a much higher survival rate that just the RT or Tamoxifen alone arms. My question is - Does this conclusion apply to those who have had mastectomies or just those that have had lumpectomies or left the tumor intact? I would really be interested in knowing if receiving the RT along with the tamoxifen will be beneficial to me.
