I bought a 2 family house. I live on the second floor. the first floor is a group home for 2 mentally retarded adults. My ex-wife refuses to allow my daughter to sleep over because she is afraid that she might be raped or murdered by the residents downstairs or by the people taking care of them. My daughter is 14 years old and is not comfortable staying overnite because of stories her mother has told her about the mentally retarded. I am quite upset that my daughter cannot/will not sleep over even one night a week. I have been a psychotherapist for 20 years and know that the mentally retarded are generally good, kind, and nonviolent people. what can I show my daughter and her mother to convince them that she is safe?
