Pulminary Embolism DVT sub clavian vein

Gov

Message 1 of 1

I have deep vein thrombosis in my sub clavian vein (the vein under my breast bone). About 30 days ago my arm swelled up. They put me in the hospital and opened up the vein with a ballon and also placed a stent to keept he vein open. I was in the hospital about 10 days, a few of which were in ICU. The swelling in the arm went down, but then four days after I got back home, the arm swelled up again. Also, I have lost my voice and I have a terrible pain in my neck. The feeling in my neck is the same "freezing headache" one gets if they eat ice creame to fast. It usually last for at least two hours. I have to lay down. I went into the hospital with a swollen arm and after spending a ton of money (I am uninsured) my swollen arm is back and now I have no voice and I am in severe pain. I would think I would be getting better. My health up until now has been very good. I am 42 years old. Any advise you can give will be appreciated. I am told to wait for six months to see how thing go, but I am very worried, especially at loosing my voice and I am not sure I can put up with this pain all the time. Please write to me
