I am twenty-five years old and have recently been diagnosed with interstial cystitis or IC. Prior to my diagnosis, I had never had any problems with my bladder - minus one urinary tract infection at age five. I am a very active person and am finding that this health issue is starting to claim my life...I am seriously considering having my bladder removed if my symptoms don't subside within five months! Does anyone have experience, advice, etc. with IC and removal of the bladder? In particular, I would like information about having one's bladder removed with a collection bag on the inside of a person's body (i.e. no appliance). I recently read that this was a new technique being performed in medicine.
