Donna
Our 6 1/2 year old adopted daughter was diagnosed at age 3 1/2 with ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). At the present time she is going through some psycological evaluations by the school psycologist and next week is having a nueropsycological eval by a Dr. The school psycologist believes that she has Reactive Attachment Disorder and not ODD. I do not know much about RAD but the diagnosis makes sense to me with my daughters history of foster homes and neglect. She was age 2 when we adopted her. Some of the behaviors that has led psycologist to feel it is RAD are: very little interaction with peers, self criticism, does not except no for an answer, argumentive, often hateful to family memebers especially Mom and 11 year old brother (only sibling), often says "I don't even need you", "I don't need a Mom or Dad" and very friendly to strangers. If any of you have advice, similar situations or information you could share with us we would really appreciate it.As I get info on RAD I in return will be happy to share with you.
