I have recently been diagnosed with DDD and was sent for a MRI. I have a appointment with a spine specialist but it isn't for another month. I have got a report on the findings of my MRI, but I have no idea what it means. If someone out there can translate it for me I would greatly appreciate it. I can't stand not knowing what it means!!! Here are the findings as written by a radiologist: An inferior end plate Schmorl's node is seen at T12.End plate sclerosis at L1-2 primarily affects the inferior end plate of the L1 vertabral body.A minimal inferior end plate Schmorl's node is seen at L2 and L3.Vertebral body height, alignment, and signal is otherwise maintained. There is loss of disk signal primarily at L1-2,L3-4,and L5-S1. Concentric disk bulging at L1-2 predominates anteriorly. The intervertabral disk at L2-3 appears normal.Mild concentric bulging is present at L3-4. A small central disk protrusion with minimal annular tear at L5 does not exert significant mass effect on the thecal sac.Broad based central-to-left paracentral disk bulging is seen at L5-S1.There is no evidence of canal or foraminal stenosis. No hypertrophic changes are seen in the facet joints. The posterior elements appear intact. The nerve roots are not enlarged. There is no evidence of nerve root clipping within the thecal sac.The lateral recesses are preserved.
