I am 27 and have had little heart burn during my life. The other night I had fallen asleep and my husband came home about an hour later. I woke up and was hungary so I had a cookie and went back to bed. We were laying there talking when I got that lump feeling in your throat when you are trying not to cry. I didn't go away and I had a hard time getting to sleep. the next day it felt like I had a lump in my throut and it hurt to swallow food. I went to see the doctor and he said it was acid reflux and gave me some Prevacid? to take. I did take one pill a day for two days and the lump went down. I am still having problems such as a bubbling sound and feeling when I swallow something, burping and the feeling of gas which gives me discomfort in my upper back, My stomach feels "full" all the time and I have a tightness in my throat at times. I can't believe something like this could come on so suddenly!!!! The only thing that has ever given me heart burn was grape Kool-Aide. When it happened that night I never even had signs of heart burn. What do you guys out there that have this disease think?????
