Fiberglass eye injury

Andrea

Message 1 of 1

Has anyone had this injury or heard about similar injuries? I'm desperate for help. About 4 or 5 years ago, I got fiberglass strands in my left eye while on the job. My eye became extremeley irritated so I went to an Opthalmologist who managed to take some hard to see strands out of my eye and gave me some medication to heal my eye. After the incident, I continued to have severe irritation with my eye and blurry vision. The doctors say that even if there was a fiber lodged in my eye, it would be very difficult for them to find. As of today, the doctor cannot find any foreign objects in my eye but say that I have dry eye syndrome and allergies which may have resulted from the incident. My vision is now extremely blurry and seems to be getting worse. I work in a new field now and have to work on computers all day. Therefore, if I cannot see, my job is at stake. Now my previous employer says that Worker's Comp doesn't want to cover my medical bills because at one point the Opthalmologist called my condition allergies. Can someone please give me advice on what to do? I am trying to find past cases similar to mine for leverage if I have to sue Worker's Comp. Thanks for your help.
