There are several new Medicines awaiting approval for severe dry eyes. Cyclosporin (which has been used by vets for dogs with dry eyes for years) and another by inspair pharm. It could be a year before either are approved. Until then you can ask your dr to try the cyclo. You will have to have it compounded by a pharmacist. Lacrisert inserts are small pellets that fit in the lower lid and dissolve slowly all day. They have helped me from getting cornea abrasions. Ask your dr for a prescription.
