Was involved in a car accident a few years ago and ended up with a blood clot in the calf of one leg. Received treatment of heparin and coumadin for two years. The clot did not dissolve. I am no longer being treated with any blood thinners. I now have very poor circulation in that leg and it is swollen most of the time. My doctor says there is no risk of another clot forming or the one still there moving. I find this hard to believe. Has anyone out there had any experience like this and if so, how do you deal with it on an ongoing basis? Also, has anyone with this type of problem flown on a long haul flight and were there any problems?
