I was just officially diagnosed with IBS after a colonscopy was done a few weeks ago but knew I had it for years due to the fact my father and sister has it, mine was a minor thing for me until this past August when I had my gallbladder taken out, now I been ill since, lost tons of weight and they think it is all due to IBS. I can't give you suggestions since I am just now beginning to try to find things to help me. I know that you have to watch what you eat and some meds do help, keep stress down. I really don't know what to do either, I stay in alot of pain, not cramps but pain, the doctor who did the colonscopy said I had colitis too which is inflamation in the bowels. I also have bile that comes thru my bowel movements due to the surgery. If I find out anything useful I will post, but I just now treading my way into dealing with severe symptoms of ibs, new territory for me. Hope you feel better and find answers soon.
