My boyfriend was recently diagnosed with hemochromatosis. His ferritin level is 1600. We are very concerned as his general practioner has not given us much information. Except there has been quite a bit of liver damage based on blood results. He has an appointment with a gastroenterologist on March 7th. Any information would be appreciated. He is very concerned because his level is 1600. We know high end of normal is 85. So how bad is 1600? Thank you, C.B.
