I have just been told by my doctor that I have T.O.S. I have been tested for carpal tunnel and the extra rib, but do not have either. I get numbness in my arms. The right one especially. (I am right handed) I have a difficult time holding anything for a period of time. Also, when my arms are over my head the numbness occurs. Sleeping at night is painful. The minute I lay down, the pain starts. When I drive, I have to hold the steering wheel at the bottom, because if I don't it causes me discomfort. I have been told to go to my doctor's office to learn excersises for this condition. Does it sound like T.O.S.? How dangerous is the surgery and what does it consist of? Thank you for any information that you can give me.
