Hi Shar, my family doctor sent me to a neurologest because he thought it was a pinched nerve in my back or a disk problem. I will say, it stared in my side and mid back. The day after Thinksgiving it hit my upper arms with a BANG and the pain was unbelievabe. I had been in terrible pain (couldn't move in the AM). Told my son (a Dr.) and he set me up with a Rheumatoligest and after a blood test, she said I had Polymyalgia Rheumatica and I said "Poly what???? Started on 40mg of Prednisone in Dec. 2000 and now I am down to 5mg. I did come down slowly (I was in a hurry to get off). I went from 7.5mg to 5mg. Today I had a bad day, lots of pain in my arms. I may have to go up to 7.5 for awhile. I have gained so much weight, my clothes do not fit and I do not want to leave the house. However, when you think of it, it's not the worse thing we could have gotten. It isn't a killer, it just makes you wish you were dead!! Just kidding. Hope you are feeling well and enjoying the beginning of summer. I just turned the big six-oh. Mary deQ
