My daughter has subclavian vein thrombosis. When she raises her arm more than 45 degrees, it compresses the vein to a very thin line. She had developed a very stubborn to remove blood clot. According to www.thrombosis.net: "...up to 90% of all patients harbor a congenital or acquired blood coagualtion protein or platelet defect which caused or contributed to the thrombotic event" "...about 50% of these defects are heriditary." "..diagnosis of thrombosis is almost meaningless..WHAT IS THE SPECIFIC CAUSE OF THE THROMBOSIS?" It should not be treated, outside of anti-coagulation drugs, without knowing the cause. Read the "Introduction to Thrombosis" at this site. Good Luck!
