                        I also had cervical dysplasia.  My colposcopy showed pre-cancerous cells.  I was given the option of a hysterectomy or laser treatment to the cervix.  My daughters were 5 and 7 at the time and I opted for the hysterectomy because I did not intend to have more children.  I had a friend who also was diagnosed  with dysplasia.  I don't mean to scare you, but she had the laser burning of the cervix and unfortunately she was not as lucky as I was.  She died of cervical cancer.  This was 10 years ago and there may be better treatments now, but I was too nervous about the possibility of the laser not being effective.   Get more than one opinion from respected gynecologists.  Truthfully, it was a great pleasure to not have a period any more!!
