I've had Crohn's since around 1982 (12 yrs. old), however not diagnosed until 1988. In 1989 my husband and I got married and have been trying to get pregnant for the past 11 years with no success (1 tubal pregnancy). The drs. say I have a lot of scarring on my tubes & ovaries & in vitro fertilization (IVF)would be the best bet for us. We haven't tried IVF as of yet because of the costs involved. Drs. say the scarring could possibly be from Crohn's Disease. I was wondering if there is anyone out there with Crohn's who has also experienced infertility and/or anyone out there with Crohn's who has become pregnant. We are wondering if I could even handle the IVF procedure & pregnancy because of the Crohn's. This has been really tough. Talk about no control over my own life - not being able to control my bowels or have a baby! Any advice or similar stories would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
