i also have eds. i am type a type 5. i am 69 years old. at 60 things really started falling apart. my skin tears & is always bruised.my upper colon tore loose & the dr. removed 18" of it. also my lung collaspes. now i have an esophagus that has lost the elasticity.i had a motility test done & it is abnormal. my pyloric valve doesn't work. i spit up acid mucus all day & have done for 3 years.i have lost 40lbs. & i look like a skeleton.i am gong to the mayo clinic on july 23 & hope they can do something to help.i am double jointed & my knees & fingers pop out. at least i made it to this age. i belong to the "loose connections" foundation. they are very helpful.i hope i didn't discourage any of you too much.no one understands this disease. there are 3 of us in utah. they finally diagnoised it when i was 39.has any one had this problem? av
