Herniated cervical disc

Patricia

Message 1 of 1

In October 96, I received three herniated discs in a car accident. Made the mistake of doing two years of chiropractic, which was a joke. Tried everything else, from top neurologists, orthopedics, nerve blocks, biofeedback, acupuncture -- finally, surgery to bone graft one disc, the other discs -- who knows? Five years later, daily headaches and entire back pain, arm/leg pain and numbness. Once one part of the back is injured, the other parts try to help, but aren't equipped to handle the load, thus become injured, too. These practitioners are a joke. They play patients for the fools they are because we are in pain and desperate for help. They use our conditions to make money and when the insurance is done, suddenly, what they could "probably help" in "just 10 weeks" of service, help, therapy, pills -- whatever they feed you as hope -- doesn't happen and little by little, there just seems to be no reason for office visits anymore. We can't hold them accountable for their "guarantees" -- isn't that convenient? The system is a "cash-cow" parade. When one patient has run the route, there's always another to take their place. I pity anyone who is newly injured and seeking care. It's the worst rollercoaster ride of indifference, because you don't know what is happening to you until all your options run dry. Today, I keep searching for answers on my own, push through the pain with acupuncture, guarded exercise -- and the belief that someone, somewhere has an answer for me.
