After reading 7 postings on fibroids, I can sympathize with the surprise and confusion about treatment. I am 50yr female with large fibroid diagnosed yesterday. I am reading western and eastern(Asian) web information postings found through search engines. I had laparoscopy 1994 and hysterosalpingograph Sept. 1995 and I was clean. I have been feeling large for a long time, but after failed infertility treatments(1995),I avoided my ob-gyn. Dr. doesn't know whether it is malignant. I can have hysterectomy now or wait 6 mos. and ultrasound again to see if rapid growth. I found a website www.theraj.com about an ayurvedic treatment center with intensive detoxification treatments in Iowa. They were written up in Fitness, Yoga Journal, Healing Retreats, Natural Living, Dermascope, The Healthy Planet,Town&Country, and Vogue magazines. I contacted them and I am booking a 7 day stay Sept 5-11. There are no mysteries, only unlearned knowledge. I feel subconsciously that all the coffee, cola, hormone pumped chicken, etc. are at cause. I never eat read meat. My husband is joining me. Fortunately this coincides with one of my two weeks of planned vacation. I also made an appointment with a local naturopath about him supervising my detoxification. There are procedures like coffee enemas that I read could speed up natural processes of detoxification. I will be learning and applying a lot. My husband and I want to resist hysterectomy, and my fibroid growth does not appear to be rapid, so this exploration is a luxury.
