I have this disease. I had a stroke and am doing very well. My carotids were 99% blocked. Had surgery 7 years ago and have had no reoccurence. I also had a stent put in my leg. Really don't know much about the disease, but am told it is rare and seen mostly in women.I would love to know more about it. I have high blood pressure, which is in control with medicine. I was 53 yrs. old when diagnosed
