My husband has this very extensively on his face, scalp and elbows. (When you scrub the scales off you have red skin like a burn. Great choices! ) When it was mild he found the best over the counter products were those made especially for seborrhea containing high percentages of coal tar. We also found that the more effective the solution was, the more it cost = but a little goes a long ways. It smells bad, stains, but works. He used it at night and we just accepted stained pillowcases. Good luck.
