CONCERNED PARENT

Terry

We have a son that has been diagnosed with ADD. We have tried medications that did not work and still the doctors want to try more, needless to say we stopped. We have tried every kind of vitamin and diet modification; we have even tried Focus Factor that is supposed to help with concentration. There are some improvements but not enough to make a difference in school. Nor is it enough to keep him on task and organized. The pregnancy was stressful because of a previous miscarriage and I had concerns of this one. We are a Marine military family and that brings stress in itself. My son has been passed from grade to grade and does not have the basic skills to learn, although he is very bright in learning the things that interest him. Classroom settings are not for my son too much distraction. The teachers do not know how to teach him. Most teachers have not even looked at his school file to learn about him to even help. We have found that most teachers pass these kids up and pay more attention to the ones that catch on quickly, kids like my son fall through the cracks in the fast passed curriculum that the states demand. We have just heard about asperger's syndrome so we can't speak about that until we do our research on subject. We have also completed every kind of test known to us, i.e. Genetics’, blood, psychology, MRI, therapist, and so on. We too are frustrated and are looking for other parents with the same kind of children and support. Because our child has begun to withdraw we are very concerned and need immediate help. If there is any one that can help point us in the right direction please contact me. I hope this has helped in some way.
