My son needed only one surgery to repair the hypospadias just before his fifth birthday; he is now 33 years old. I worried so much about how he would feel in later years and if he would be able to have children. Of course there was not much info on this in the early 70's. The last time I saw him unclothed was atleast 25 years ago, but he looked fine, but has never wanted to discuss the surgery. He does not seem to have a problem with any area including sexually. We mothers need to not make this a disability, and most of our sons will appreciate that. Please know I understand your feelings, but consentrate on any area other than his penis. The repair surgeries are very stressfull, but these little guys want to be treated like a regular boy. Best wishes, J. Smith
