I have the same problem. I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia in 1988. The acid reflux can be unbearable at times. I also have the same sinus problems. I have had my bed elivated 6" for about 20 years per my doctors instructions. This helps the drainage to go ahead and drain out more quickly. I have had sinus surgery and that appears to have made it worse. My drainage is coming from my back sinuses. I now have a sinus infection about every three months and have to get antibiotics and decongestants. My doctor has me on a new medicine called 'Clarinex' that is for chronic sinuses and allergies. It has helped with the drainage some and the cough is not as bad now. I also use Nasacort AQ. I went to see my gastro doctor (it has been 5 years since I'v been to see him) last week and now I am having a Upper Endoscopy on Monday so he can look at my esophagas, stomach and check the hiatal hernia. He did tell me that the acis reflux can lead to cancer. I have been on Prevacid since it came on the market. There are times that it don't work at all. I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome that aggrevates the acid reflux. My doctor told me that when Prevacid and Prilosec don't work, it is is a sign that the IBS is aggrivating the GERD. I have had severe heartburn for 20+ years. Gall stones can also produce heartburn and severe pain in the middle of the chest. I had a very large gall stone removed in i989. The heartburn continued. You need to go to a gastro doctor and he can determine if the Upper Endoscopy should be done. Feel free to email me at any time Roxanne
