Dry eyes but NOT dry eyes

Kenneth Homsley

Message 1 of 1

After seeing several specialists I was finally diagnosed with dry eye syndrome. But about a month ago the pain was so incredible that I called my regular eye doctor for a name of another doctor who could give me a second opinion. After completing one test, that no other doctor ever told me about, which took about 5 minutes, my new and favorite doctor diagnosed me with something entirely different. I don't remember the technical name for it, but he referred to it as map dot corneal dysplacia. Its where the membranes attched to the cornea are missing the ties that bind them to the cornea. SO when I opened my eyes in the morning it pulled the membranes off of the cornea, resulting in the worst pain I ever experienced. Anyway, now I use Muro 128 5% eyes drops 3 times a day, and Muro 128 5% ointment before I go to bed. With the addition of cutting back my coffee and sugar intake, and hanging out in smoked-filled bars, I use a humidifier at night because of the heat in the air and I wear an eye mask when I sleep. Although I still have some problems with my eyes, I feel 100x better. If anyone wants more info I will contact my doctor for the scientific name of my eye disease and post it at a later date. Signed, Feeling Much Better
