I've recently moved into a large home with my family including a 15 month old baby daughter. She developed ringworm soon after moving in and we've treated her with an antifungal cream which has eliminated the problem on her. The previous owners had 3 dogs and 2 cats and racoons in the attic. Do I have to replace all the carpet in the house to eliminate the fungus? The 3000 sq. ft. carpet looks good and is not stained. Can I eliminate the ringworm fungus that may be in the carpet without total replacement? Can ringworm fungus survive and remain infectious in a dry carpet?
