Hi I have suffered from menieres disease on and off for about twenty years...it is unusal for a child to get menieres...but as they do not know what actually causes it...who is to say... the most and in my knowledge only reliable test for menieres is to have water pumped into your ears, while you are wired up to a monitor, that records the movement of your eyes...I am in the UK...I do not know where you are located...but if in the UK, may I suggest, you request to be referred to a teaching hospital's audiological research program...I do not think an earing aid would be useful for your son, but I am a fellow sufferer as well as being a paediatric health care professional...so that is something I think you should professional advice on...Has your son been prescribed any medication...serc tablets are the most frequent drug used...If you like, you can email. Good luck, and all the best to your son.
