My mother had this surgery in 1968 in New Zealand. It was very new then. Her spine had collapsed and it was life or death for her. She is still alive now at 75 i gave her 40 years more life! I have known several others who have had operation , none as bad as my mother was in the first place and they have all gone on to lead full active lives and grown taller! The operation today is simple compared to then. She will be fine!
