Dear Becky, we have an eight year old boy with Dyspraxia. Our son was sent to a child development clinic when he was four and half. They totally wrote him off. We took no notice and didnt go back! Four and a half is very early to be diagnosing Dyspraxia as children are still learning their coordination skills. We have had problems along the way, but Daniel can now talk normally, reads very well, and has lovely joined up writing. You often find these children have above average intelligence. So trust your instincts. When Daniel started in year 1 he just sat there and wouldn't do anything! So they did an intelligence test and realised he was having them on. Try not to worry too much and have faith in him.
