I have a 14 year old girl. She wasn't diagnosed until she was in the third grade. From the time she was in kindergarten we knew that she had a learning problem. I have had to fight for different services for her. I have an older daughter and She is not only not affected by this but she is also not a carrier. I am a carrier and so is my sister. My sister had two boys and neither of them are affected. Make sure that she gets services through what ever regional service is in the area. My daughter is getting vision therapy right now. The school district is having to pay for it because it affects her ability to learn. Most insurances don't cover this. I was told that she needed to see a behavioral optometrist but nobody knew where one could be found. I called the local optometry society. They were able to let me know that the school for optometry at uc berkeley could do the testing. My daughter had started wearing glasses when she was three. However even if they have 20/20 vision. They may still have some form of vision problem that affect there ability to learn. My suggestion to you is to have your daughter tested.
