I am a 61 yr old female who had GBS in 1981, when I was 42. I was a long time in beeing diagnised, and a much longer time peaking, but a very swift recovery, relatively speaking. My onset was in Feb., Dx in May, hospitalized, for 10 wks, totally compromised, then to a rehab, Kessler, in NH, for another 10 weeks, where I did well. I canot understand why your mother has suffered for so long. Do you know this disease, GBS mimics others, ie, Multiple Sclerosis. Have you had her examined by more than one or two physicians?
