My fiancee was diagnosed with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy at about 33 yo. He was told he'd be in a wheel chair within a few years, yet hes 56 now and still walking. He defied the odds. His left leg is very thin and weak in muscle tone due to de myelinazation(sp). He falls sometimes because of this. Hes also got very weak pelvic muscles, causing his belly to protrude and he also has a very thin, atrophied right arm and its not very strong. Of course there are many different forms of muscular dystrophy and everyone is affected differently. I hope this information has been helpful. Good luck to your daugher.
