Is your brother-in-law collecting social security disability (SSDI)? If he is he should be eligible for Suplemental security income (SSI). SSI is a federal program given to people whose social security payments are below he poverty level. If he is eligible for SSi, he should also be eligible for medicaid (medical insurance for the extremely poor). This medical insurance might pay for a homecare provider. A homecare provider usually comes once or twice a week and helps a person with hygiene and housework. I believe a person clinically diagnosed with schizophrenia should be eligible for the above mentioned services.
