I recall being very impressed when my father cured my brother's infection with silver proteinate eye drops. In later treatment was with anti-biotics such as chloramphenicol and fucidin. I imagine that doctors are more scientific these days and take swabs to culture for an accurate diagnosis before treatment. Certainly seek expert medical advice.
